Super Chef Cubis Monkey woke up early, his tiny chef hat already tilted proudly on his fuzzy head. Today was a big day: Dad needed help with the weekly shopping, and Cubis was determined to make it the best grocery trip ever.
Cubis zipped around the treehouse kitchen, checking their list.
“Bananas, berries, bread… and butter for my super-secret banana-berry pancakes!” he squeaked excitedly.
Dad handed him a small woven basket. “Ready, Super Chef?”
Cubis saluted. “Ready to roll!”
Down the jungle path they went, heading toward the bustling Monkey Market, where parrots haggled loudly and turtles slowly shuffled carts overflowing with fruit. Cubis loved the market—so many colors, smells, and samples!
First stop: Banana Mountain. Cubis inspected each bunch like a true chef. Too green. Too spotty. Just right! Into the basket they went.
Next came the Berry Buckets, where frogs sold blueberries, strawberries, and even sparkleberries that glowed softly. Cubis grabbed a handful and imagined the desserts he could make. Dad chuckled. “Let’s save room in the basket, buddy.”
At the Bread Tree Bakery, Cubis sampled a tiny crumb of warm jungle loaf. “Perfect for toast!” he declared, tossing it in.
But suddenly—uh oh! The basket was getting heavy, and Cubis’s small monkey arms started to wobble. Dad noticed and knelt down.
“Need help, Super Chef?”
Cubis puffed out his chest proudly, but then sighed. “Maybe just a little.”
Together they carried the basket to the checkout vine, where a sloth scanned each item verrry slowly. When the shopping was done, Cubis rode on Dad’s shoulders, triumphantly holding the receipt like a trophy.
Back home, Cubis unpacked the groceries with a grin. “Super Chef mission complete!”
Dad ruffled his fur. “I couldn’t have done it without you.”
And Cubis knew—being a hero was even better when done together.
